This is the update information for all participants.
Midwheb Update
March 22nd 2007
Easter Service
Best wishes for Easter. Like you I shall not be in the office during the school Easter break and there will be a reduced service. However, I will be answering e mails on an intermittent basis. 1April-16th April.
Time
Please use your Easter wisely to prepare your assignments for the Summer term. While most Midwheb learning is done in the classroom and school you do need to set aside times for organising your assignment. We have passed the mid year now for modules that began in September and this should be reflected in your progress with the assignments.
NPQH and Other NCSL Programmes
I have outlined some ideas about NPQH linking to the MA Education programme. Please have a look at http://midwheb.wordpress.com/ which is the FAQ area of the Midwheb website. Go to www.midwheb.org.uk You should really take this route in and top right “FAQ”.
Hand In May 8th
Foundation Stage. Leading from Within Some DPP’s. Late Submissions.
Please let me remind you once gain if you are due to hand in May. Deferral of the hand in date for genuine and unexpected reasons can be applied for at http://www.mdx.ac.uk/24-7/assess/
Assignments from January.
I still have several uncollected and presumably the candidates have had no feedback. Please arrange with Ann Lea or Natalie Darvis to collect during Easter or we shall have to bin them. (Taking into account who are the serious scholars in time for the next assessment round! You have been warned! (a.lea@mdx.ac.uk, N.Darvies@mdx.ac.uk)
Next Core day Saturday 19th May 9.30 for 1000 Trent Park -Data Collection
The account of data collection has not always been as good as it needs to be in assignments. The next core day will focus on the Data Collection section of assignments and the detail you need to give. Please let me know if you are coming by returning this e mail.
Impact Sections
Just as many of you may be thinking of Impact sections of assignments, the TDA have given some helpful insights into strengthening these. I suggest the following
• Separating perceptions from other “hard” data such as observation, assessment data etc.
• Adding a senior team “validating” statement to confirm the improvements. (maybe workplace advocate)
• Assessing the weight or strength/importance of data in terms of impact
Midwheb Partnership-Online
Last month 33 of the 99 members of the online community Midwheb Partnership 2006-7 logged on.
